Seiko doesn't do quiet months, but September 2026 is a particularly dense one: regional exclusives, a comic-book collaboration, and mechanical divers all landing inside a few weeks. Here's what's worth knowing.

## The Japan-Only Opener

The month kicked off on September 5 with a Japan-only edition: a 38mm orange dial with a vintage-toned LumiBrite finish, running on the 4R36 automatic day-date movement. It ships with a POPEYE caseback and a strict 500-piece production run, and it's rated to 100 metres.

**Spec callout:** 4R36 automatic movement, 500-piece limited run, 100m water resistance.

The Seiko 5 Sports x Popeye HDB013 is priced at ¥55,000, which converts to roughly US$340\. Australian pricing has not been announced, and given the tiny run and Japan-only distribution, it's likely to stay that way outside grey-market listings. The Popeye tie-in continues Seiko's long-running run of pop-culture collaborations within the 5 Sports range, a strategy that keeps the line's entry-level pricing intact while giving collectors a genuine reason to chase a specific reference.

## Presage Classic Series x TRADMAN'S BONSAI

The more design-forward release of the month is a collaboration bringing a textured pine-bark green dial to the Presage Classic line, in a colourway called Matsuba-iro Green. It runs on the 6R51 automatic movement with a healthy 72-hour power reserve, and the bonsai-inspired texture on the dial is the kind of detail that photographs better than it sounds on paper.

**Spec callout:** 6R51 automatic movement, 72-hour power reserve.

The Presage Classic Series x TRADMAN'S BONSAI, reference HCC009J1, is limited to 2,000 pieces worldwide and priced at EUR 1,400\. As with the Popeye collaboration, Seiko has not announced Australian retail pricing at time of writing, so local buyers are working off that European figure as the best available reference point.

## The Solar Chronographs

Rounding out the slate are two solar references built on the V192 solar movement, each with a six-month power reserve on a full charge, a 1/5-second chronograph function, a tachymeter scale and 100 metres of water resistance. Regional exclusives and enamel craft models hit distribution on September 1, with the sky-blue mechanical chronograph and a powder-blue reference still to land later in the month.

**Spec callout:** V192 solar movement, six-month power reserve, 1/5-second chronograph function.

Seiko's Prospex Speedtimer solar chronograph line built on the V192 movement is priced at US$775 across the standard-production colourways. Australian pricing has not been confirmed; based on Seiko Australia's usual conversion from US list pricing on Prospex releases, expect it to land somewhere north of that figure once local retailers list it.

Taken together, it's Seiko's dual strategy on full display: accessible collaborative pieces sitting alongside genuinely high-specification mechanical divers, all inside a single month's release calendar.
