Spring is properly underway and this week's obsessions swing from deep space to the pocket, the dinner table and a couch full of demon hunters. Ten things, one list, zero filler.

## 1\. ZWO Seestar S50 Pro

The [Seestar S50 Pro](https://www.zwoastro.com/product/seestar-s50-pro/?ref=blankidentity.com.au) is a smart telescope that fits in a camera bag and still shoots genuinely good astrophotography, no manual polar alignment or star charts required. It starts at US$999 (approx. AU$1,419), and for anyone who has stared up at a clear country sky and wished they had more than a phone camera, it is the easiest way into the hobby we have seen.

## 2\. OrigamiSwift Folding Travel Mouse

The [OrigamiSwift](https://shop.yankodesign.com/products/origamiswift-folding-mouse?ref=blankidentity.com.au) folds flat to just 4.5mm but unfolds into a full-size, full-grip mouse, which is the trick every travel mouse has promised and none have actually delivered until now. At US$85 (approx. AU$121) it is a genuinely clever bit of industrial design for anyone who travels with a laptop and refuses to use a trackpad.

## 3\. Titaner Titanium Belt Keychain

The [Titaner Titanium Belt Keychain](https://titaner.com/products/titanium-belt-keychain-clip?ref=blankidentity.com.au) is a one-press quick-release system that clips your keys to a belt loop and lets them go with a single motion, no more fishing around in a pocket. It is currently on sale for US$79 (approx. AU$112, down from US$108), and it is the kind of small EDC upgrade that quietly changes a daily habit.

## 4\. STEELPORT Carving Set

The [STEELPORT Carving Set](https://www.steelportknife.com/collections/sets/products/carving-set?ref=blankidentity.com.au) pairs a hand-forged 52100 carbon steel carving knife with a matching fork and a walnut presentation box, built to carve the Sunday roast for the next few decades. At US$740 (approx. AU$1,051) it is not cheap, but it is the sort of heirloom-grade tool that gets handed down rather than replaced.

## 5\. Montana Knife Company "The Montana"

["The Montana"](https://www.montanaknifecompany.com/products/the-montana?ref=blankidentity.com.au) is Montana Knife Company's first-ever folder, and after selling out on debut it has just restocked. At US$390 (approx. AU$554) it carries a premium price to match the brand's fixed-blade reputation, and demand so far suggests buyers do not mind.

## 6\. Arc'teryx Subida Jacket

The [Subida Jacket](https://arcteryx.com/us/en/shop/womens/subida-jacket-0442?ref=blankidentity.com.au) is Arc'teryx's genderless take on the technical windbreaker, cut from 30D recycled nylon four-way stretch ripstop with UPF 50+ protection, a PFAS-free DWR finish and a stowable hood tucked into a boxy, high-low hem. It sits at US$350 (approx. AU$497) and is already selling through quickly in both colourways, proof a shell brand can still make headlines with a jacket built for the footpath as much as the trail.

## 7\. Nothing Ear (3)

The [Ear (3)](https://nothing.tech/products/ear-3?ref=blankidentity.com.au) is Nothing's third-generation true wireless earbuds, pairing 45dB hybrid active noise cancelling with 24-bit Hi-Res LDAC audio and the brand's now-signature transparent design language. It is priced at AU$299, and it remains one of the few earbuds on the market that looks as considered switched off as it sounds switched on.

## 8\. Byredo Future Memories Eau de Parfum

The [Future Memories](https://bluemercury.com/products/byredo-future-memories-eau-de-parfum?ref=blankidentity.com.au) eau de parfum is Byredo's newest release, developed with perfumer Quentin Bisch, opening on blackcurrant and galbanum before settling into a warm, powdery base of Madagascar vanilla, iris butter and musk. It retails for US$235 (approx. AU$334), and it is exactly the kind of quietly confident, hard-to-pin-down scent Byredo built its name on.

## 9\. Vans x KPop Demon Hunters

Vans and Netflix's [KPop Demon Hunters](https://www.vans.com/en-us/news/kpop-demon-hunters?ref=blankidentity.com.au) are back for a Fall 2026 collection across the Slip-On, Old Skool and Authentic Hi 2.0, kitted out with HUNTR/X branding and character details for Rumi and Derpy. It landed on 18 September priced between US$50 and US$75 (approx. AU$71 to AU$107), and it has become one of the fastest-selling collabs of the year with the show's fandom.

It retails for US$377 (approx. AU$535), and it might be the single most delightful crossover of nostalgia hardware and modern gaming this year.

**Verdict:** ten wildly different obsessions, one thread: real craft, real launches, nothing phoned in. Spring is shaping up to be a very good season for gear.
