The robot vacuum I'd buy in Australia right now is the [Roborock Qrevo 2 Pro](https://www.jbhifi.com.au/products/roborock-qrevo-2-pro-robotic-vac?ref=blankidentity.com.au), and the price is a big part of why. JB Hi-Fi lists it at $849 as of 8th Oct 26, down from a ticket price of $1,699, and for that money you get a self-emptying, self-washing dock and a long list of anti-tangle and carpet features. This is a research-based pick built from the spec sheet and Roborock's own claims, not a hands-on review.

## Why the Qrevo 2 Pro

The robot vacuum aisle has a pricing problem. Recent flagships such as the [MOVA V70 Ultra Complete at $3,299](https://www.blankidentity.com.au/mova-v70-ultra-complete-australia-price/) and the [DJI Romo 2 at $2,899](https://www.blankidentity.com.au/djis-romo-2-brings-drone-smarts-and-a-robotic-arm-to-robot-vacuums/) are impressive, but most homes do not need a machine that costs more than a good laptop. The Qrevo 2 Pro is the sensible version of the same idea: strong suction, a dock that handles the dirty jobs, and a price that makes sense.

## Built for hair and carpet

The headline number is 25,000Pa of suction, which Roborock calls HyperForce. What I care about more is the brush design. The DuoDivide main brush is a dual anti-tangle design that guides hair inward, and Roborock says its internal testing found no tangling with hair at the lengths it tried. That is a manufacturer claim, but hair wrapped around a brush is the most common complaint about robot vacuums, so it is the right problem to solve.

Carpet is handled with a few extras. Carpet Boost+ lifts suction to its highest level on carpet, and Auto Mop Removal detaches the mop at the dock before a carpet run and reattaches it afterwards, so the mop does not drip across your rugs. You need to switch that feature on in the Roborock app.

## Corners and mopping

Round robots miss corners. The Qrevo 2 Pro has a reversible side brush that spins the other way as it enters a corner so its longer bristles sweep the edge, plus an extendable mop that reaches further along skirting boards. On hard floors it uses dual spinning mops, which lift up to 15mm to avoid damp patches on rugs.

## The dock does the dirty work

This is where the Qrevo 2 Pro earns its price. The dock empties the dust bin automatically, and Roborock says that lasts up to 65 days between manual empties (I've got 2 dogs so I'm lucky to get 2 weeks). It refills the water tank, washes the mops with hot water up to 75°C, then dries them with 45°C warm air so they are not left damp and smelly between runs.

Smart features include SmartPlan 3.0, which tailors cleaning to each room once you label them, obstacle detection using structured light, and Matter support alongside Alexa, Siri and Google Home. The warranty is two years, according to JB Hi-Fi.

## What to check before you buy

The $849 price is a JB Hi-Fi sale price and sales end, so check it before you commit. A few of the better features, including Target Area Re-Mop, are listed as arriving in a future update, so they may not be available day one. And if your home is large, has lots of cables and cluttered floors, or you want the very best obstacle avoidance, an alternate machine may suit you better.

**At a glance**

- **Price:** $849 at JB Hi-Fi on 08th Oct (ticket price $1,699)
- **Suction:** 25,000Pa
- **Brushes:** DuoDivide anti-tangle main brush and reversible side brush
- **Mopping:** dual spinning mops, extendable mop, lifts 15mm, auto mop removal on carpet
- **Dock:** auto dust emptying (up to 65 days claimed), tank refill, 75°C mop wash, 45°C drying
- **Warranty:** 2 years

**Verdict:** The Qrevo 2 Pro is the robot vacuum I'd buy for a typical Australian home with a mix of hard floors and carpet, as long as it is still near $849\. It gives you the dock features that make a robot vacuum worth owning without flagship pricing.
