Vogue Forces of Fashion Sydney 2027: Anna Wintour at the Opera House
Anna Wintour is the first name on the bill for Vogue Forces of Fashion at the Opera House. Here is what the day is, who is behind it and how to get a seat.
If your feed has gone a bit Vogue-shaped lately, there is a reason. Vogue Forces of Fashion Sydney 2027 is on, Anna Wintour is the first name announced, and tickets went on sale late last week and you have until Feburary 27 to plan your outfits.
So what is it, exactly? Think of it less as a fashion show and more as a very well-dressed conversation. Nobody is sending clothes down a runway. Instead, the who's who of fashion, film, music and the wider world of culture sit on a stage and talk about how they actually do, what they do: where the ideas come from, what goes wrong, what they have learned the hard way. It is the sort of thing you usually only get to read about afterwards.

Where the idea came from
Wintour started the series in New York back in 2017, and it has since turned into a travelling conversation that Vogue takes to different cities. Sydney is now on that list for the second time. The first Australian summit which was in early 2026 sold out, which goes a long way to explaining why this one has been announced so early and with such a big name up front.
It is also a nice change of pace for the people who run the magazine here. Vogue Australia's editor-in-chief Christine Centenera and editorial director and publisher Edwina McCann are both planned to appear, so expect some local voices and flavour to be part of the day too, not just the visitors.
Why it feels like a big deal
Part of it is the room. The summit is listed for the Concert Hall, which is the big, warm, wood-lined space where people usually go to hear an orchestra. Hearing a fashion conversation there feels a bit like being let in on something. The other part is the guest and there is no bigger drawcard for fashion than Wintour. She has spent decades shaping what the fashion world pays attention to, and most of us have only ever seen her in a front-row photo with sunglasses on. Hearing her talk, live, in Sydney, is a different thing entirely.

And part of it is simply that nothing quite like it exists here. Fashion week is for the industry. This is for anyone curious about how style, film, music and ideas rub off on each other, whether you work in fashion or just like knowing who is behind the things you love.
The people backing it
Paspaley is back as the major partner. If the name is familiar, it is because the Australian pearl house is about as close as the country gets to a household name in fine jewellery, so it suits the setting rather well. Belvedere and Dyson are the supporting partners. A vodka brand and a hair tools brand sharing the bill says plenty about the crowd you can expect to see there, there will be of course the obligatory influencers and look-at-me's.

Tickets and timing
The summit starts at 9:30am on Wednesday 3rd Feb 27 and runs for about three hours. Tickets are $129 for C Reserve, $149 for B Reserve, $199 for A Reserve and $249 for Premium. Wintour is the first headline speaker named, with Christine Centenera and Edwina McCann on the bill alongside her.
The summit is followed by the second Vogue Australia Summer Ball, so if you are the type who plans an outfit around an evening, you may want to start thinking now.

Tickets and updates sit on the Sydney Opera House event page. If you have ever wanted to hear how the people behind the biggest fashion moments think, this is a rare chance to do it in one of the loveliest rooms in the country.
