Galaxy Z Flip8 Gets Slimmer and Samsung's Own Exynos 2600 Chip
Samsung's pocketable flip phone is thinner, runs on the new Exynos 2600 and adds a Camcorder Grip for vloggers. It starts at $1,949 in Australia.
While the Fold line grabbed the attention at Samsung's Galaxy Unpacked in London, the Galaxy Z Flip8 remains the foldable most people actually buy. It is the more affordable option, and it folds down into something small enough to disappear into a jeans pocket.
Slimmer, with a new chip
The Flip8 is slimmer than last year's model and switches to Samsung's own Exynos 2600 processor, rather than the Snapdragon chips used in the Fold range. It runs a 4,300mAh battery and shares the new Flex Titanium display structure used across Samsung's 2026 foldables, which combines a titanium alloy film with a titanium plate to keep the crease less visible and the hinge feeling smooth over time.
Built for creators
The Flip has always been popular with people who film themselves, since you can prop it half-open and use the cover screen as a viewfinder. Samsung has doubled down on that. Flex Mode now makes hands-free shooting easier across a wider range of angles, and a new Camcorder Grip accessory with a zoom rocker turns the phone into something closer to a proper vlogging camera when you are filming on the move.

The Flip8 is between $150 and $250 more than last year's equivalent, with Samsung pointing to higher component and memory costs. It remains the cheapest way into Samsung's foldable range, and a good deal cheaper than any of this year's book-style foldables.
