Electro Merveilles Brings France's 360-Degree Dance Party to Melbourne and Sydney
French DJs Tchami and Tigerlily headline three nights of music, light and projection, finishing with an open-air party at the University of Sydney.
French Touch, the filtered, funky house sound that Paris gave the world in the late 1990s, is getting a very modern Australian outing this October. Electro Merveilles, from the team behind the French event series Château Merveilles, is bringing what it calls a 360-degree celebration of French culture through music, art and projection to Melbourne and Sydney for three nights only.
Not a club, not a concert
The pitch is somewhere between a festival and an art installation. In Melbourne, the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre will be transformed into an immersive world of light and projection, with the crowd surrounded by visuals rather than facing a single stage. Sydney gets the finale: a seven-hour, open-air French Touch party on the University of Sydney campus.
The line-up
French DJ and producer Tchami, one of the architects of the future house sound, headlines alongside Sydney's Tigerlily. They are joined by a strong local supporting bill including KVISION, Tyson O'Brien, Alex Hosking, Mowgli May and Fred B Side, with slightly different line-ups across the three nights.
